Reducing Homelessness

I will implement an improved custody release plan which will put those with mental illness or substance abuse on a path to wellness while in our custody and care.

Our department will create a unprecedented real-time communication network with law enforcement, the District Attorney, courts, and existing county agencies to help connect individuals with programs and services to build a stronger, safer community.

Upon their release, we will enhance the effectiveness of existing county programs which provide alternatives to incarceration and support services. This will provide a smooth, effective transition into community programs to reduce homelessness and recidivism.
